During the summer period, the region remains mindful of bushfire risks, particularly when hot and dry north-westerly winds blow from the interior. While the ocean provides a cooling effect, prolonged heatwaves in the state can still lead to elevated temperatures and increased fire danger ratings in the surrounding National Parks.
