Climate of the Wimmera Plains

Wilkur is situated in the vast, relatively flat landscape of north-western Victoria. This geographic position places it within a temperate climate zone characterised by hot, dry summers and cool, crisp winters. Conversely, during the cooler months, the region can experience vigorous wind gusts associated with deep low-pressure systems tracking south of the Victorian coastline. While the area is generally dry, heavy rain events can occasionally lead to localised flooding on the plains where drainage is limited by the flat topography.
