Typhoon Bavi (JTWC 09W) has been upgraded to typhoon status with 90 kt / 165 km/h winds and 970 mb pressure, tracking west toward Guam and the Marianas. JTWC forecasts a peak of 150 kt (Cat 5 equivalent) on 4-5 July 2026. PAGASA would name it Inday if it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility around 7-8 July.
